Diniyar Bilyaletdinov speculated that the departure of Steven Pienaar to Tottenham Hotspur could be a boon for his career, and in the 76th minute at Goodison Park, the Everton winger has seen some early rewards. On a half-volley from the edge of the area, Bilyaletdinov has beaten Robert Green for an equalizer, pulling the Toffees back to 1-1 with visiting West Ham.
Everton Vs. West Ham: Diniyar Bilyaletdinov Finds Equalizer
The movement start with Phil Neville lofting a ball for Marouane Fellaini at the edge of the Hammers' area, to the left of goal. The big Belgian headed a ball back across the top of the box, barely evading Frederic Piquionne, who should have done better to clear the ball. Instead, the knock-down dropped to Bilyaletdinov, whose right-footed a half-volley past Green, pulling the Toffees even.
Bilyaletdinov has seen his playing time drop this season, but with the departure of Steven Pienaar, the left winger should see his playing time increase sharply. If the Russian can continue to show he has more than just a brilliant left foot, Everton may not miss a beat.
