Sevilla look like a team with plenty of confidence in the first half of their game against Levante, but the visitors have certainly made their job easy. The 3-0 lead is a justified one for Sevilla, but Levante have provided absolutely no opposition. The hosts have almost two-thirds of the possession, while the visitors have defended woefully and managed to put only one shot on target.
Sevilla Vs. Levante: 3-0 Halftime, Hosts Re-Join Race For Europe Thanks To Woeful Granotes
The opener was scored by Luis Fabiano in the 28th minute on the counter-attack. The only surprise was that it took Sevilla 28 minutes to score. Right winger Jesus Navas provided the assist, hitting a cross from the wing to the center of the box that was headed into the back of the net by Fabiano.
Sevilla’s second goal was scored 11 minutes later on a set piece. Immediately following a corner kick, Romaric crossed to defender Julian Escude, who scored another headed goal to make the score 2-0. Almost immediately afterwards, Levante’s Javi Venta fouled Sevilla’s Fernando Navarro in the box, giving the hosts a penalty kick. Luis Fabiano stepped up and converted it, and Sevilla took a 3-0 lead.
And wouldn’t you know it? Fabiano even cracked a smile.
