David Hoillet's had been looking lively for the last fifteen minutes of the first half, working hard on both flanks and drawing a good save out of Boaz Myhill towards the end of the first 45. Now the Canadian has something to show for his efforts after a stunning 25-yard shot flew past the stunned Welsh goalkeeper and nestled in the back of West Bromwich Albion's goal. Blackburn started the half brightly, and Hoillet found himself furthest upfield in a moment of transition. Gabriel Tamas, who has already scored an own goal, put in an awful challenge, allowing Hoillet to skip away, cut inside, and send the home side further ahead with a rocket of a shot.
Blackburn Rovers vs. West Bromwich Albion: David Hoillet Screamer Makes it 2-0
West Bromwich Albion will be looking for an immediate response to going down by two (Jerome Thomas pinged a shot just wide of Paul Robinson's goal a few minutes later), but at the moment Blackburn look the more likely to score again, with the ball for the most part camped quite happily in Albion's half. Roberto di Matteo may need to make a change to his team before the match gets out of hand. Having an extra man in the midfield doesn't seem to be helping his side out much right now, and the Baggies have to score - and soon - to have any chance of salvaging the points.
