With 15 minutes left and facing a two goal deficit, Roberto di Matteo has made another change, removing midfielder James Morrison and replacing him with Roman Bendnar. Blackburn have likewise made a switch, using their last substitution to haul off Michel Salgado, who'd been terrorised by Jerome Thomas all match, and committing young Grant Hanley to the fray instead. Hanley won't have to deal with the Baggies winger, though - he's moved to centre back with Gael Givet at left back and Martin Olsson moving to the right.
Blackburn Rovers vs. West Bromwich Albion: Mark Clattenburg Making Presence Known
Meanwhile, Mark Clattenburg has booked Jerome Thomas for diving - unfairly, considering the winger was at the very least knocked off balance by Chris Samba's challenge as he cut inside and drove across the top of the area. The decision to book Thomas comes mere minutes after denying West Brom a clear penalty after a foul on Peter Odemwingie. At the other end of the pitch, the referee denied substitute Jason Roberts a half-hearted penalty shout, opting to wave play on rather than calling the Baggies defenders or the striker for any of the half-dozen or so offenses that were committed in the two seconds before Roberts fell over.
