Jose Mourinho has made a few changes to his line up for tonight’s match against Mallorca, and right now they’re really struggling to get into this match. Mourinho has opted for Fernando Gago and Esteban Granero in the middle, with Ricardo Carvalho making a comeback in defence and Karim Benzema and Kaka continuing upfront. Strange looking line-up and one that could well provide with a shock the way things are panning out. I’ll be keeping a close eye on the Gago-Granero partnership as the match wears on.
Real Madrid Vs Mallorca: Mallorca Closest To Breaking Deadlock
Mallorca have come out intent on attacking Madrid on the counter, and more specifically down Madrid’s left hand side where Marceloa is having a difficult evening against the impressive Nsue. And had a scorcher from Nsue been a couple of inches further to the left, Mallorca would have taken the lead. A searing run from the winger ended with a shot across Iker Casillas which struck the inside of the post. Fantastic effort that deserved a goal.
The away side are also defending admirably, demonstrating exactly why they are the only side not to have lost against either Barcelona or Real Madrid so far this season. Nunes and Ramis are a formidable centre-back pairing, so Cristiano Ronaldo will need to step it up a gear if his is to continue his extraordinary goalscoring record so far this season.
Twenty minutes gone and Michael Laudrup will happy with his teams performance so far.
