It’s been an incredibly up and down season for Chelsea. They have some dire moments, but they’ve had their fair share of spectacular matches as well. It seems like they can turn their class on and off, much like I can with my swag. Today was one of those days when the switch was up in the ‘on’ position.
Bolton Wanderers Vs. Chelsea: 0-4 Full Time, Blues Turn On The Class
Bolton started this match brightly, but after Didier Drogba’s 11th minute stunner, it was basically all Chelsea. The opener put a damper on things, and Florent Malouda’s second goal killed off almost all of the hosts’ confidence. What little shred of that confidence was left was thoroughly destroyed when Nicolas Anelka scored to make it 3-0 in the 56th minute, and Ramires’ goal, the last goal of the game, just added a few style points.
If the table doesn’t lie, as many pundits would like you to believe (even ones who think women don’t understand the offside rule), then Chelsea are hardly dead in the water for the title. They could be even if the table does lie, since Manchester United haven’t played the most scintillating football in the world as of late.
On the other side of the pitch, Bolton fall to 10th place with this loss, now eight points behind a guaranteed European place.
