"Don't Go, Charlie", read a sign held up by a young Blackpool fan at Bloomfield Road before the team's kickoff against Manchester United today. Unfortunately for the baby Tangerine, I suspect Adam's departure is a foregone conclusion, just looking at his ability and contract situation. In fact, he might not even last the entire match after falling badly following a pass forward. The Scottish midfielder and Blackpool captain landed awkwardly on his arm and looks in some pain, but he'll play on for now. This match had been previously scheduled for December, but was called off thanks to a frozen pitch. Somewhat ironically, the pitch seems almost dangerously wet today, already causing several falls, including Adams' tumble.
Blackpool FC Vs. Manchester United: Sloppy Start To Match
United started the game very stylishly, but perhaps the substance could have been a little stronger, with slick passing punctuated by several sloppy giveaways from the visitors. Blackpool’s attack has been direct but fairly toothless, and United are resorting to attacking straight down the flanks rather than passing the ball around in the middle, mainly using Nani as an outlet on the right. The Portuguese winger has already swung in a couple of dangerous crosses (and one atrocious one), but the hosts’ defence has been more or less equal to the threat so far, despite some fairly alarming passages of play..
