The longer this game goes on, the more vulnerable Manchester United have looked, and now they've paid the price - again from a corner.. After edging the first quarter of an hour at Bloomfield Road, Wayne Rooney and company went down to a Craig Cathcart header in the 15th minute, and haven't appeared anything like their usual assured selves. Blackpool have had a flurry of half chances this half and now seem to be totally in control of the game, a saved Rafael header aside. Shortly after Edwin van der Saar tipped a long range drive from Welshman David Vaughan around the post, Blackpool struck again.
Blackpool FC Vs. Manchester United: DJ Campbell Makes It 2-0 At Halftime
Charlie Adam swung in the corner from the left, and it was a lot better than his previous effort, which had gone out for a goal kick. The delivery was flicked on by United winger Nani and subsequently found DJ Campbell free near the far post. The goal was inevitable as soon as the striker rose, and van der Saar could only look on helplessly as the ball sent the back of his net billowing. The 43rd minute goal means that Blackpool go into the break 2-0 ahead.
United are in serious danger of losing their unbeaten record, and they're getting very frustrated, with both Paul Scholes and Nemanja Vidic both picking up bookings after the goal. Sir Alex Ferguson isn't having a very good day so far, and he may be forced into making changes at halftime. At the very least, United's superstars will be getting some serious hairdrier treatment in the dressing room.
