Birmingham City has completed their comeback, against exploiting West Ham United from a corner kick. Having pulled even in the 79th minute, the question is now whether the Blues can build on this momentum and finish off the Hammers. For West Ham, the current problem is set piece defending. Nobody was near Lee Bowyer when the Birmingham City midfielder blasted the Blues to within one. Twenty minutes later, Roger Johnson was able to beat Matthew Upson on a near-post run, heading a corner kick down from the edge of the six, the ball bouncing two yards before the line before climbing toward the top of the goal. Evading West Ham `keeper Robert Green - who has seen his good day undone by his defenders - Johnson's goal has make it 2-1, Birmingham, evening the two-legged tie a 3-3.
Within minutes after the goal, we nearly had the answer to out question, Birmingham City's energy saw Cameron Jerome given a chance along on goal. Green came off his line to cut-down Jerome's angles at eight yards out, the Birmingham striker possibly being pulled from behind. Not call, no matter, it's still 3-3, with the teams staring at extra time.
