Osasuna Vs Real Madrid: Hectic Opening To The Match

If there’s one thing you can guarantee about this fixture, it’s that the Reyno de Navarra will be rocking. Osasuna hate Real Madrid with a passion, and the opening minutes of the match have seen the home players hunt Real Madrid down, closing spaces and hustling them off the ball. There have been a few nasty challenges so far but only Lass Diarra has seen yellow for a silly handball.

Karim Benzema seems to be up for this match, no doubt as a result of Emmanuel Adebayors presence on the Madrid bench. We have already seen a nice bit of skill from the Frenchman in the Osasuna box, and he was a whisker away from putting Madrid ahead a couple of minutes ago, with Di Marias cross flashing just infront of Benzemas head.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Mesut Ozil are yet to get into the match, Ronaldos only contribution a free-kick from way out that came back off the Osasuna wall. Xabi Alonso has been left out as a precaution after a niggly injury picked up against Sevilla in the cup. Real Madrid will need to draw on all their fighting qualities tonight if they are going to keep the Liga race alive.
