It would appear as though the long-discussed move of Luis Suarez to Liverpool is just about wrapped up after the Ajax striker passed his medical and agreed to personal terms with the Reds. The deal is expected to be finalized tomorrow.
Luis Suarez Passes Medical, Agrees to Terms With Liverpool FC,
The signing of Suarez comes amidst uncertainty over the future of Fernando Torres at Anfield; should Chelsea fail in their pursuits of the Spain international Liverpool’s strike force should be amongst the most potent in the Premier League. If Torres does exit before the close of the January transfer window, Liverpool will have an opportunity to see how Suarez can operate as the featured attacking option at the Premier League level.
Suarez has been with Ajax since 2007, appearing in 108 games and scoring an eye-popping 81 goals. 49 of those goals came last season alone, with 35 in the Eredivisie and 6 in the Europa League. He is known for his versatility along the front line as well as heady goalkeeping prowess when necessary and occasional forays into cannibalism.
