Liverpool FC Agrees £35 Million Transfer Fee For Newcastle United’s Andy Carroll

Liverpool FC have agreed to pay Newcastle United £35 million for striker Andy Carroll, according to reports. The Reds had reportedly offered the Magpies £30 million last night for the services of the 22-year-old England international. Now comes word via various sources that a new fee has been agreed upon, with The Guardian's sports desk amongst the most reliable:

Carroll is third to only Manchester United's Dimitar Berbatov and Manchester City's Carlos Tévez in goals this season in the English Premier League. Over the last three years with the North East England club, Carroll has scored 33 all-competition goals. Now all that's left to completed move up the English Premier League hierarchy is agreeing to personal terms with the Anfield club.

If he does, Carroll will be set to partner with recently acquired Luis Suarez, the Uruguayan agreeing to personal terms with weekend, completing this move from Ajax. The tandem will likely be tasked with replacing Fernando Torres, whose move to Stamford Bridge looks much more likely now that Liverpool has secured an hier.
