Everton finally have their lead back after 75 minutes, and no one can say they didn’t deserve it. While both teams have had a few clear cut chances in the second half of the match, Tim Howard has been very good for Everton, denying a couple of Tottenham Hotspur chances, while Seamus Coleman was actually able to finish one off for the hosts.
Everton Vs. Tottenham Hotspur: Seamus Coleman Puts Everton Ahead
The goal came on a counter attack, culminating in a shot by Louis Saha, who has been surprisingly effective all match long. Gomes made a decent save on the Frenchman’s left footed shot, but he could only parry the ball back into the penalty area. Coleman was waiting where the ball fell and nodded it in past Gomes, giving the Toffees a 2-1 lead.
Besides the goal, the other highlight (or lowlight) of the second half is an injury sustained by Gareth Bale. The Spurs left winger appeared to hurt his back, and was subbed off for Niko Kranjcar. Spurs have made another substitution in reaction to the goal, bringing on Robbie Keane for Aaron Lennon, who did not have his best day.
