Sebastian Giovinco was Parma’s big summer signing from Juventus, but to this point, the 23 year old hasn’t played up to his potential. Before today, he had only scored one goal in Serie A. To start this game, he looked like he was playing nervously against his old team, looking unable to deal with the hard - but fair - challenges that Juventus’s defense through at him.
Juventus Vs. Parma: Visitors Ahead 1-0 At Stadio Olimpico Through Sebastian Giovinco
However, after a quiet start Giovinco was the man who put Parma ahead 1-0 on ten man Juventus. He said he wouldn’t celebrate if he scored on his old team, and he kept his promise. The move was created by a Cristian Zaccardo cross from the right flank into the center of the box. Massimo Gobbi got up and hit a header with some power, but his effort was saved by Marco Storari. The ball fell right to Giovinco, though, and he blasted the ball into the back of the net.
To update something that was mentioned earlier, Simone Pepe has entered the game, replacing Alessandro Del Piero, not Amauri. No one thought that Pepe would actually replace Amauri, but it wouldn’t have been an awful idea. That substitution has Claudio Marchisio playing a more central role.
