Liverpool Vs. Manchester United Live, 2011 Premier League: ‘Chicharito’ Javier Hernandez Scores Equalizer

Alex Ferguson will still catch some criticism for his defensive team selection to start the Northwest Derby, but one of his subs has his team in a position to get a point at Anfield for the first time in a long time. Manchester United are now level with Liverpool 1-1, thanks to an equalizer scored by substitute striker 'Chicharito' Javier Hernandez.

Hernandez replaced defensive midfielder Phil Jones in the 76th minute, as United trailed and needed to find a way back into the game. The young Mexican star failed to get involved in his first couple of minutes in the game, but not unlike a number of previous substitute appearances, his first touch of the ball was right in front of net.

On a set piece, the ball skidded through the box towards Danny Welbeck, who appeared to get a slight touch on the ball. Hernandez ran into the six yard box and found himself unmarked and in perfect position before nodding home a header, giving United an important equalizing goal.
