An MRI on Monday revealed that Seattle Sounders midfielder Mauro Rosales reinjured his knee on Saturday, leaving in question his availability for the Western Conference semifinal against Real Salt Lake. Rosales has played just 30 minutes in competitive matches since first suffering the injury on Sept. 17.

Schmid said Rosales' MRI revealed that he reinjured the MCL a little bit. Said he's "iffy" for Sat. and a "we'll see" for Wed.

Rosales made his first appearance since that injury in a reserve role against the San Jose Earthquakes. He played 26 minutes and picked up an assist on the Sammy Ochoa's game-tying goal. Rosales started the following game against Chivas USA, but was injured on a 3rd minute tackle by Ben Zemanski and was stretchered off the field.

Rosales was among the league leaders with 13 assists, adding five goals in what many believed was a MVP caliber season prior to missing most of the Sounders’ final five regular-season matches. The Sounders are 13-3-6 in matches Rosales started this year and 5-4-3 in all other matches.
