Colorado Rapids Vs. Columbus Crew Live, MLS Cup Playoffs 2011: Omar Cummings Goal Puts Rapids Up At Halftime

The Colorado Rapids are ahead of the Columbus Crew at halftime, and it's probably deserved. Towards the end of the half, they were pressing forward, while the Crew did absolutely nothing. The scorer was Omar Cummings, putting in a goal in second half stoppage time to give Robert Warzycha a little something to think about heading into the locker room.

One of those things that he'll need to think about is that Kosuke Kimura, the Rapids right back, was the man who provided the assist. Kimura has actually been bombing forward all game long, leaving Columbus with a lot of space down the left to counter-attack when Colorado loses the ball. If only the Crew had a United States international quality left winger to exploit this obvious weakness...

OH WAIT! Robbie Rogers, a recent U.S. international call-up who has been capped 17 times by the national team plays on the left for the Crew! And, despite the fact that the Rapids left back is essentially a midfielder, he has been invisible. How is this even possible?

But yeah, nice finish by Omar.
