Considering the amount of diving the designated player was doing during the match (and it was pretty awful) it’s astonishing that he managed to up his game for this one. Marquez is obviously trying to get someone red carded here, although it’s not entirely clear who he wants off. Is this the worst dive the MLS playoffs have ever seen?

Not that I want to get all sentimental and get into intangible things like “grit” and “heart”, but holy crap. What a tough, determined dude. And not only tough and determined, but determined to play in an important game for a team who he’s been with for a couple of months. Scoring goals makes strikers popular and well-respected, but Keane’s toughness and work rate are what made him a Tottenham and Ireland legend.
I don’t have any rooting interest in this game, but I’m happy for Robbie Keane.
