Michael Ballack Breaks Nose, Doubtful For Champions League
Michael Ballack is doubtful for Bayer Leverkusen’s midweek Champions League match against Valencia after breaking his nose against Freiburg.

Ballack scored a goal in the 2nd minute, and then was forced to leave in the match in the 65th minute after a collision with Freiburg’s Jan Rosenthal. The goal was Ballack’s first in the Bundesliga since 2006 when he was playing for Bayern Munich.
The former Germany captain finally appeared to be getting the injuries behind him that have plagued him since his return to the Bundesliga with Leverkusen. He had been in very good form lately and appeared to have won a permanent starting spot in coach Robin Dutt's side.
Ballack joined the club in training on Sunday with a specially-made carbon mask to protect his nose. According to the team’s website, the mask was made to meet the midfielders exact needs and will be able to be adjusted if necessary.
