Atletico Madrid stunned the Santiago Bernabeu with the first goal of the evening, scored by Adrian in the 15th minute. At that point in the game, Real were still settling into the game and still working on establishing their rhythm, so it would be unfair to call the goal against the run of play. Eduardo Salvio provided the assist with Diego providing an important dummy, as Adrian ran onto a ball in the box and finished at a narrow angle from ten yards. There was an appeal for offside and it was very close, but the linesman probably got the call correct.
Los Merengues piled on the pressure from then until the end of the half, amassing 70 percent of the possession, but couldn’t find a second goal. At this point, it seems completely inevitable.

Well, Valencia get’s a slightly easier Madrid-based side this week after thrashing Genk in the Champions League 7-0. I don’t see things ending too well for Madrid’s very little brothers this week. Especially not with Roberto Soldado in the best form of his career (how good is that guy?).
