In a scary scene from Montevideo, Uruguay, the wife of Uruguay manager Oscar Tabarez was attacked on Saturday by two men on motorcycles. She was walking down the street near their home when two men on a motorcycle threw a liquid on her that left burns on her arms and face, according to the Montevideo Police's Chief of Public Relations, Jose Luis Rondan.

“I do not know the extent of the injury,” Rondan said. “The complaint was made by Uruguay coach himself in the 14th branch, which is investigating. They did not steal anything. They threw the liquid when slowed down and left. She was not pushed, not insulted at all.”
There hasn’t been an update to her status and how severe the burns are, but it is certainly a scary situation. We have no idea whether she was targeted by the men or was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, but we certainly wish her a speedy and full recovery.
Tabarez has earned a great deal of praise for his work with the Uruguay team, managing them to the semifinals of the 2010 World Cup, winning Copa America and seeing them to fourth in the FIFA World Rankings. At a time like this though, football is hardly a priority.
