Former Roma star Alessandro Faiolhe Amantino (better known as Mancini) has been jailed for two years and eight months by the Italian courts after being found guilty of the rape of a woman in 2010. Mancini, who played in Italy between 2003 and 2010, committed the offence while playing with AC Milan during a party hosted by Brazil star Ronaldinho, when he offered to escort a drunk woman home but instead took her to his apartment and subjected her to repeated sexual assualt. The woman, who was reportedly left injured, immediately reported the crime to the violent sexual assault centre at Mangiagalli hospital.

Mancini, who denied the charges throughout the course of the investigation, claiming that the sex was consensual, had returned to Brazil to play for Athletic Mineiro as of last January, but the 31-year-old won’t be fulfilling his contract with his new club - he’s not due for release until the summer of 2014.
