The Montreal Impact continued their wheeling and dealing ways on Monday, sending Seth Sinovic and allocation money to Sporting Kansas City in exchange for veteran midfielder Davy Arnaud. The Impact had selected Sinovic, a Kansas City local boy, in the Expansion Draft, while Arnaud had been protected.

In Arnaud, the Impact have a player with 10 years of MLS experience, all of which were spent with Kansas City. He has 43 career MLS goals and 35 career assists and is just one season removed from a season in which he had six goals and three assists in 27 games. Last year, he made just 22 appearances, the fewest he’s had since 2003 when he was in his second season. Almost as importantly, the Impact also appear to have a player who is perfectly willing to join the expansion team.

“I am very thankful to Sporting Kansas City, the organization and the fans. I made this my home for 10 years and am so proud to have been a part of the great soccer growth in Kansas City,” Arnaud said in a statement. “I look forward to my next challenge and playing in Montreal, but will never forget the wonderful times we shared here.”

In addition to the Arnaud trade, the Impact have now made four somewhat significant moves since the expansion draft. On the day of the draft, they traded for Justin Braun and Gerson Mayen from Chivas USA in exchange for the recently selected James Riley; traded for Tyson Wahl from the Seattle Sounders in exchange for allocation money; and signed Bryan Arguez from the USL-Pro.
