It appears that Barcelona have done just fine recovering from their loss to Getafe on the weekend. Not that a home match against Rayo Vallecano is supposed to be nearly as difficult as a match away to Getafe, but the Blaugranas have been brilliant nonetheless so far in this contest. They lead by a score of 3-0 at halftime, with Alexis Sanchez scoring a brace.
Barcelona Vs. Rayo Vallecano, 2011 La Liga: Halftime, Blaugranas Rampant
Sanchez’s first goal was the opener, scored in the 29th minute, and it was an absolutely brilliant one. Cutting in from the right wing, he chipped a ball up over the keeper, hitting the inside of the far post. The ball ricocheted into the back of the net, and it was obvious that the game was already over with Barcelona up a goal at home.
Xavi assisted Sanchez’s second goal, with Daniel Alves assisting the third, scored by David Villa. They’re going to play another 45 minutes just for funsies.
