The Los Angeles Galaxy will play Toronto FC in the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals, guaranteeing at least one MLS team will advance to the semifinals for a second straight year. Prior to Real Salt Lake's trip to the finals in the 2010-11 tournament, no MLS team had ever advanced to the semis.
CONCACAF Champions League 2012: Quarterfinal Draw Set
LA Galaxy will play Toronto FC in the only all-MLS quarterfinal, while the Seattle Sounders will play Santos Laguna.

In all quarterfinals, the group winners will host the second leg. The first legs will be held March 6-8 and the second legs will be March 13-15. The full draw should be announced shortly.
The Seattle Sounders, the other MLS team to advance to the quarterfinals, drew Santos Laguna in the quarterfinals. That was probably a worst-case scenario for the Sounders, who only needed a tie in their final CCL group stage game against Monterrey to win their group. Instead of facing a second-place team, they'll now be forced to play arguably the best side in the tournament. Even worse, Santos Laguna will be in midseason form, while the Sounders will basically be at the end of their preseason. No MLS team has ever beaten a Mexican team during the championship round of the CCL.
The other two quarterfinal matchups will pit Isidro Metapan against Pumas UNAM and Mexican teams Monterrey against Monarcas Morelia.
