The draw for UEFA Euro 2012 commences on Friday in Kiev, where Michel Platini and a bunch of footballers, current and former will draw some balls out of bowls. Those balls will determine what teams fall where in the Euro 2012 group stage, at which point everyone will instantly determine who the favorite to win the competition is. It's all good fun and only one thing is certain: It is impossible for England to have an average group. Either all of the other teams in the group are rubbish or England is getting screwed by UEFA.

The pots are set for Euro 2012 and the draw commences on Friday
Poland and Ukraine, the duel hosts, are in Pot 1 and have already been placed. Poland will play in Group A and Ukraine will play in Group D. Everything else is up for grabs. Here are the pots.
Pot 1
Poland
Ukraine
Spain
Netherlands
This sets up some great possibilities. For instance a ridiculously strong group like Spain, Germany, Portugal and France would likely be the worst group of death in any competition, ever. Meanwhile, a group of Poland, Russia, Greece and the Czech Republic would likely be the worst group in European Championship history.
The draw starts at 12:00 pm ET, 5:00 pm GMT and 7:00 pm local time. You can catch it on ESPNEWS, ESPN3 and ESPN Deportes in the USA, TSN in Canada, and Eurosport in the UK.
