Real Madrid Vs. Barcelona, 2011 El Clasico: Ronaldo Wastes Great Chance

Oh dear. That should be 2-0 to Real Madrid, and the only reason it isn't is because Cristiano Ronaldo decided to be selfish. The hosts are breaking down the left when suddenly Karim Benzema drags the defence out of alignment before playing a luscious reverse ball to Ronaldo on the edge of the box. Angel di Maria is in acres of space on the right and screaming for the ball - he'd have been clean through if it was played to him - but instead Ronaldo opts to shoot himself, blasting just wide of Victor Valdes's goal. That's a mistake.

Minutes later and the two sides trade yellow cards. Xabi Alonso goes in the book for a foul on Lionel Messi, who's probably been kicked to the ground five times already in this match, before Alexis Sanchez tries to aggravate di Maria's injury with a cheeky foul and receives a booking for his troubles. That wasn't very nice at all.
