The match between Juventus and Udinese promised so much at halftime. Plenty of attempts from Juve, quite a few chances on the counter for Udinese. It was quick, it was stimulating, it was fun. But apparently at halftime, someone visited both dressing rooms and reminded the players that Serie A is meant to be boring. Both sides took that to heart, and decided to retreat into more defensive shells.
Udinese Vs. Juventus, 2011 Serie A: Yawn.
Juventus don't want to lose, that much is clear. Keeping that unbeaten streak going seems much more important than taking all three points. The selfishness of both Alessandro Matri and Simone Pepe, who chose to go at goal alone rather than pass to open teammates, certainly didn't help.
As for Udinese, they're still waiting for the visitors to tire, so they can make their way through the tight defense. Instead, the whistle keeps blowing, noting yet another instance of Antonio Di Natale being offside. For those keeping track at home, we're at four drinks for Toto.
