Arsenal Vs. Wolves Postponed 24 Hours

Planned industrial action for the London Underground has forced Arsenal to push their Boxing Day match against Wolves back by 24 hours.

In light of the anticipated tube strike that will hit London on Boxing Day, Arsenal have opted to push their home game against Wolverhampton Wanderers 24 hours to the 27th of December. A statement from the club described the difficulty employees and supporters would have in getting to the Emirates safely on the 26th, and their reasoning seems fairly sound:

In addition to the proposed industrial action on London Underground on Boxing Day, there would also have been no services operating on overground train services into London on this day. Also, normal parking restrictions close to the stadium would have still applied. This would have caused severe disruption, or at worst, inability for supporters or Matchday employees and workers to get to Emirates Stadium.

We apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused supporters, but we feel that the right decision has been made based on a duty of care. All tickets purchased for this match are still valid for Tuesday, December 27.

Chelsea vs. Fulham at Stamford Bridge is also affected by the strikes, but there's more available parking in the area and after consultation with the police, Chelsea have opted to play the match as planned.
