After an up-and-down season with D.C. United, Charlie Davies is heading back Sochaux, according to an article on MLSSoccer.com. The 25-year-old forward had been looking to remain in North America, either with MLS or possibly in Mexico, but those talks apparently were unable to be finalized.

Charlie Davies spent last season with D.C. United, scoring 11 goals.
“He’s looking forward to going back to Sochaux,” Davies’ agent, Lyle Yorks, confirmed to MLSsoccer.com. “There are other options in Europe, but right now he’s just excited to show the new coach what he can do.”
Davies first signed with the Ligue 1 side back in July 2009, but played in just eight matches before he was seriously injured in a car accident that ultimately forced him to miss the 2010 World Cup. After a lengthy recovery, he made an appearance on Sochaux’s gameday roster on April 26, 2010, but never appeared in a game.
The following offseason, Sochaux agreed to loan him to United. During his one season in MLS, Davies scored 11 goals in 26 matches, but found himself out of favor as the season wore on. United ultimately decided not to exercise their option to extend the loan casting Davies’ future into doubt.
