Tottenham Hotspur have a 1-0 lead over Blackburn Rovers, but it’s tough to say that they deserve it. Harry Redknapp’s makeshift side hasn’t been communicating too well while Blackburn are obviously superior in communication and organization, but noticeably lacking in the skill most Premier League teams possess to go along with it.
Blackburn Rovers Vs. Tottenham Hotspur: 0-1 Halftime, Spurs Lead After A Chaotic 45 Minutes
The goal came early, thanks to a brilliant combination between Rafael van der Vaart and Peter Crouch. Playing on the right wing instead of his preferred central attacking position, van der Vaart hit a great floating cross towards the head of Peter Crouch in the box. Crouch rose up over Christopher Samba and hit a great header into the back of the net to make it 1-0. It would be the only score of the first half, but Blackburn had plenty of opportunities.
Wilson Palacios and Sebastien Bassong, in particular, have made a number of mistakes for Tottenham. Fortunately for them, Blackburn have not had the skill and instincts to capitalize on them.
