Arsene Wenger has said the severity of Theo Walcott's ankle injury makes it "very unlikely" the right winger will play against Barcelona on March 8. Having already been ruled out of Arsenal's Carling Cup final on Sunday, Walcott's timeline was pegged as "two to three weeks" by his manager.
Theo Walcott Doubtful For Arsenal’s Second Leg With Barcelona
Walcott had relatively little impact in the first leg, unable to replicate the impact he had when the sides met in London last year, when he came off the bench to score Arsenal’s first goal. This year he was kept off the scoresheet, though he would still be expected to start at the Nou Camp if fully fit.
Should Walcott be unable to go, Andrei Arshavin would likely start. Arshavin came off the bench in the first leg to score the go-ahead goal, Arsenal leaving the Emirates up 2-1. With Cesc Fàbregas's hamstring leaving the Arsenal captain questionable for the second leg, the Gunners could also see Abou Diaby or Tomas Rosicky with a place in the starting XI.
