The half-time whistle has been blown and right now Barcelona are on course for a vital three points that will add extra pressure on Real Madrid as they prepare to take on Deportivo La Coruña in tonights 10pm (CET) kick off. It hasn’t been easy for Barca, with the absence of Xavi the most telling absence of all, as Mallorca stemmed Barcas flow with consumate ease for the first half hour with a disciplined performnace that starved Barca of any space when in possession.
Mallorca Vs Barcelona: HALF-TIME: Messi Goal Difference Between The Two Sides
But for the last 15 minutes of the half, Iniesta and Messi finally found their feet and began to run Mallorca ragged. Messi wasted a galring chance but showed a cool head minutes later to nod over a hesitant Aouate after Keitas pass had taken out the whole Mallorca defence. At the back Barcelona look far too comfortable with Abidal and Pique having little to do. Mallorca have had just the one opportunity with Webo heading over from close range, so it will be interesting to see of Michael Laufrup switches formation to give the Cameroon striker a bit of support in attack.
