Early last week the U.S. advanced to the semifinals of the CONCACAF U-17 Championships, which qualified them for the 2011 U-17 World Cup, but they still had to play out the rest of the tournament and try to win the crown as CONCACAF’s best. They went on to win the tournament, defeating Canada in the final 3-0, and while that is nice an all, what we really learned is that Nathan Smith is going to be one of the world’s best players before long.
