The Milanistas seem to be panicking about their team’s impending free fall, but it would be unfair to pin any of the blame for two points dropped on Max Allegri or particular AC Milan players. Genoa showed up to play today and gave Milan all that they could handle, and got a lucky goal to boot. On most days, Milan would have squeaked out a win against a Genoa team that played their socks off in the second half, but Antonio Floro Flores’ goal has snatched two points away from the visitors.
Genoa Vs. AC Milan: 1-1 Full Time, Hosts Hold Firm In Tough Draw
Milan’s opener was a great goal, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic hitting a brilliant assist through two defenders to Pato. The young Brazilian just had a tap-in, and it looked like it would be the first of a few goals for Milan. However, their scoring would end there.
Genoa found an equalizer in first half stoppage time, thanks to a fortunate deflection that fell to Floro Flores. The fact that the ball got to him in the box in the first place was lucky, but the finish was not, as he did very well to slot the ball into the back of the net at the far post.
The second half produced no scoring, but it was far from boring. Both teams were ambitious going forward and created chances, but no clear cut ones. Both sides defended brilliantly and the game ended in a 1-1 draw that was deserved for both teams. Milanistas will not be happy with two points dropped, but it was more about the point that Genoa earned this afternoon.
