After Malaga had made a strong opening to the match in the Sanchez Pizjuan, they have been rocked by an injury to goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo who fell awkwardly when Luis Fabiano was racing through on goal. There was nobody near the keeper when he fell, and it just looked like his standing leg gave way when he was preparing himself to close down Fabiano.
Sevilla Vs Malaga: Asenjo Injury Marks Opening Ten Minutes
Looked serious to begin with, but he was seen doubling his leg when being attended to, so here’s hoping it’s not another knee ligament injury but either way he has been replaced by Arnau. Malaga have enjoyed a lot of possession up to now without creating any real moments of danger. Sevilla are yet to do anything of note. Not quite the cup thriller that we enjoyed between these two sides a couple of weeks ago.
