It’s an almost unanimous consensus that Maxi Rodriguez has been the worst player on the pitch for Liverpool FC, while Nicolas Anelka has that undistinguished distinction for Chelsea FC. After I put together the last reaction post about Nicolas Anelka’s struggles, agent and just generally awesome tweeter Carrie Baird offered her thoughts on not just Anelka, but on Chelsea’s midfield in general:
Chelsea FC Vs. Liverpool FC: Following The Reactions, 55th Minute, Video Games And Halftime Shows
Chelsea seem to lack a really creative player, no supply, I wouldn't just pin it on anelka
Everyone’s favorite blogger - at least before he sold out and went all MSM on us - Michael Cox offers his views on Liverpool’s midfield and the play of their fullbacks:
Liverpool better so far as (a) their diamond rotating = movement and (b) Liv wing-backs in naturally more attacking positions than Chels FBs
I kid, Michael. Congrats on the MSM gigs. ESPN The Magazine contributor Jorge Arangure has a theory about the teams’ new players and the way they work together, making a comparison to the SBNation Soccer staff’s favorite soccer computer simulation game:
No surprise at the uneven play between Chelsea and Liverpool. Any Football Manager 11 players know it takes time to blend new guy into squad
And finally, SBNation’s own Zach Woosley doesn’t think that Fox Soccer Channel’s halftime show had an “authentic” feeling to it and offers his thoughts on the “fans” in the FOX studios:
What the are the odds those are paid actors in the studio and all the jerseys, flags and scarves were provided by World Soccer Shop?
This sounds highly probable based on the way the fans were acting in the studio (static). However, it can’t be difficult to locate a bunch of Chelsea and Liverpool fans in Los Angeles.
