Stoke City Vs. West Ham United, FA Cup Video: Frederic Piquionne’s Controversial First Half Equalizer

Here's the goal with commentary, announcing that's far too forgiving of the non-call. While the presenters have a point - you can't disallow a goal merely because the play looks suspicious - that point would lead to counter argument: Why weren't officials in position to make a call on Frederic Piquionne's equalizer, where were they? Wherever they were, it allowed West Ham to equalize Stoke in a half where they'd been outplayed. As a result, the sides are even at half.

Here’s the goal:

The call may not be as obvious as I'm making it out to be, but my eyes are seeing this as a clear cushioning helped by the extended right arm. As such, Stoke City's been hard done by a goal that shouldn't have been allowed.

However, if you are going to say Piquionne's trap is legal, you have to card Robert Huth. The Stoke defender jumps into Piquionne at the end of the play, forcing the attacker to leave with an ankle injury.
