It might be a long night for the Portland Timbers. The Rapids are off to an awesome start, and they have a 2-0 lead thanks to their dynamic duo up top, Conor Casey and Omar Cummings. I hope Caleb Folan didn't come to America thinking he would be guaranteed a starting place if he was healthy, because the chemistry and complimentary skill sets of Casey and Cummings are really something to behold.
Colorado Rapids Vs. Portland Timbers: Omar Cummings Makes It 2-0
Per the official twitter of the Colorado Rapids, Cummings is the only player to score in four MLS openers. This goal was a great individual effort, but it was started by Casey, who hit a great flicked header for Cummings to run onto. The Jamaican hit his first shot into Timbers goalkeeper Adin Brown, but the ball fell back to him and he didn't make a mistake with his second attempt, scoring past Brown on a fantastic attempt. If you count form as carrying over from the previous season, Cummings is one of the hottest players in MLS right now, and he doesn't look the least bit rusty.
