Real Madrid Vs. Malaga: Cristiano Ronaldo Scores Fourth Goal, And It Might Be Eight Before It’s Over

It took less than five minutes from the start of the first half for Real Madrid to find a fourth goal from Cristiano Ronaldo, and really, this isn’t that fun anymore. Malaga look absolutely dead, like they’ve been resigned to not only a loss in this game, but failure and general. They’ve shown nothing to suggest that they’re going to fight off relegation. Yes, this is Real Madrid taking them to the cleaners, but the lack of belief and focus is truly astonishing.

Mesut Özil was the man who provided the assist on Ronaldo’s goal, which I found particularly amusing. ESPN3 color commentator Tommy Smyth spent a very good portion of the first half slagging off Özil for no apparent reason, so it was nice to see the German make Smyth eat his words.

Jose Mourinho made two substitutions shortly after the goal, bringing on the seldom used Fernando Gago for Xabi Alonso and striker Emmanuel Adebayor for Angel Di Maria. I’m going to predict that we’ll see six Madrid goals by the time this game is over.
