Mexico Vs. Venezuela 2011 Score: 0-0 Halftime, Chicharito Dangerous, Andres Guardado Below Par

Javier Hernandez has looked dangerous up top for Mexico, while Pablo Barrera has looked very good on the right, but that’s about it for the praise deserved for the Mexican national team thus far. They’re engaged in a 0-0 draw with Venezuela at halftime, and they could use some serious improvement. Andres Guardado looks out of it, perhaps because a player with long term fitness problems shouldn’t be attempting to start a second game in three days. Giovani Dos Santos has been average at best as an attacking midfielder, and Luis Ernesto Perez has not been as good of a central midfield partner for Gerardo Torrado as Israel Castro.

On the plus side, there are lots of awesome fans in the stands with a variety of musical instruments. The stadium is basically a 500 piece band. Also, the midfield for Venezuela has looked very good, and Hamburg fans should be encouraged by the play of Tomas Rincon. I close with a meme picture of Chicharito.
