Mexico Vs. Venezuela 2011 Score: 1-1 Full Time, El Tri Left Disappointed

There were some encouraging positives from Mexico in their international friendly match against Venezuela, but ultimately, their supporters across North America, along with most of the the 60,000 who attended the game in San Diego will be disappointed with their score draw, a 1-1 result. The teams went into halftime at 0-0 after a fairly lackluster half, but Javier Hernandez and Pablo Barrera were certainly promising for El Tri.

Israel Castro and Aldo de Nigris came on in the second half, and both were very impressive. De Nigris scored Mexico’s goal, set up by a player who had a very up and down game, Giovani Dos Santos. However, a lot of the focus on the game will be on the negative moments, namely Venezuela’s goal. The marking by Edgar Dueñas on the corner kick that Osvaldo Vizcarrondo scored on was awful, though Tomas Rincon should be praised for his great delivery. Rincon had a great match for Venezuela in many respects, not just on the assist, and was a serious contender with Pablo Barrera for man of the match accolades.
