Birmingham City has made five changes from the team that starting last Sunday’s Carling Cup final. At the back, Martin Jiranek is out, with Curtis Davies coming in to partner Roger John. Craig Gardner and Barry Ferguson are not in the team, and with Sebastian Larsson being relegated to te bench, Keith Fhaey and Lee Bowyer will be joined ni midfield by David Bentley and Jean Beausejour. Up top, Alex McLeish’s 4-4-2 seeing Nikola Zigic on the bench, with Obafemi Martins and Cameron Jerome potentially giving the Blues a more ambitious look than we’re accustomed to seeing.

In midfield Chris Brunt, James Morrison, and Jerome Thomas will form a dangerous trio in front of Youssuf Mulumbu and Paul Scharner. At the back, Abdoulaye Meite is in, partnering Jonas Olsson at the back, with Steven Reid and Nickey Shorey out wide. Scott Carson has gotten another start, playing in goal above Boaz Myhill.
