Chelsea did London rivals Arsenal a huge favour when they defeated league leaders Manchester United earlier in the week at Stamford Bridge, preventing United from opening up a seven-point gap between themselves and the second-place Gunners. Instead, Arsenal are just four points off the top - and with a game in hand. In order to make the most of the leaders' stumble, however, Arsene Wenger's injury-hit side will have to beat Sunderland today, and Steve Bruce's side has already taken points off the Gunners this season in a 1-1 draw at the Stadium of Light. A draw or loss here could be season-defining for Arsenal, and not in a good way.
