It's been an interesting if not exactly explosive gave between Sunderland and Arsenal at the Emirates stadium. Arsenal have had the lion's share of scoring chances but one Nicklas Bendtner attempt aside have failed to really test Simon Mignolet in the Sunderland net. Without Cesc Fabregas and Robin van Persie, the home side's play through the centre is looking uninspired, and Andrei Arshavin and Samir Nasri are both looking wasted on the wings, although the latter came infield much more towards the end of the half, which coincided with Arsenal's best spell. If this is Arsenal's response to being given a chance to close down Manchester United at the top of the table, than we may as well crown United champions already.
Arsenal Vs. Sunderland: 0-0 At Halftime
Sunderland are sensibly looking to hit their hosts on the counterattack, and are doing a reasonable job of it. Jordan Henderson and Stephane Sessegnon are looking lively, and there have been a couple of scary moments for the Arsenal back line (although primarily of their own making). This game needs a goal to make it really interesting, though.
