Marc Albrighton has put Aston Villa back in front against Bolton Wanderers, after a comical first fifteen minutes of the second half that saw the visitors grab six attempts at goal, three in just one play, that bounced off the forcefield in front of Jussi Jaaskelainen's goal and back into play. This time, however, Jaaskelainen could only get a hand on the ball as it sailed into the back of the net. Fabian Delph sent a cheeky pass to Stewart Downing, sailing down the right side. Downing put in a beautiful cross to Albrighton, who controlled before bouncing the ball over a Bolton defender and into the net.
Bolton Vs. Aston Villa: Marc Albrighton Gives Villa the Lead
Minutes later, David Wheater put his shoulder into Ashley Young inside the Bolton area. Martin Atkinson wasted no time in pointing to the spot, although he was distracted by the protests of the Bolton players. Ashley Young stepped up to the spot but was distracted by the antics of Jaaskelainen and missed his opportunity.
Marc Albrighton has yet to score in a match that Aston Villa have won, so...there’s that.
