Arsenal Vs. Sunderland: Marouane Chamakh Hits Crossbar

That is an absolutely fabulous save from Simon Mignolet after an excellent free kick courtesy of Arsenal captain Samir Nasri. Laurent Koscielny, marauding forward from centre back, found himself embroiled in a scrum at the edge of the Sunderland area and was hacked down by John Mensah. Nasri whipped in a sharp free kick that Mignolet somehow clawed out from under his crossbar and to safety. The Arsenal onslaught isn't over yet through. Maroune Chamakh rattled the bar with Mignolet well beaten after Jack Wilshere swung in an excellent cross, and then Bacary Sagna blazed over in plenty of space. Andrei Arshavin then missed well wide while through on goal, but that was mainly because he was shoved over by Titus Bramble while shooting. No red card, no penalty. Oops.

Tomas Rosicky has just come on for Arsenal, replacing Abou Diaby, while Steve Bruce is desperately trying to hang onto their lead with ten minutes left - striker Asamoah Gyan has come off for Ahmed Elmohamedy. It's going to be something of an onslaught until the final whistle goes, one would think.
