Arsenal Vs. Sunderland: Szczesny, Linesman Keep Game Level

So much for an Arsenal onslaught. Sunderland put the home side on the back foot with a swift attack that builds into a major spell after Laurent Koscielny picks up a yellow card for hauling down Danny Welbeck. Eventually, Stephane Sessengon, fed by Anton Ferdinand, skips right past Gael Clichy, gets to the line, and passes for Welbeck in the centre. It was a very difficult ball, but the Manchester United loanee brought it down with a brilliant touch than hammered a half-volley towards Wojciech Szczęsny right post. The Polish goalkeeper got down brilliantly to save, then came up huge again for the Gunners as Jordan Henderson looked to turn the ball home again from the corner.

Arsenal, to put it dimly, are aggrieved to not be winning this match, and the linesman's just added fuel to the fire but ruling out a perfectly legitimate goal by Andrei Arshavin, who was completely onside when he was put through on goal. The little Russian rounded the keeper and slotted home, only for the flag to rule it out for no good reason. Ouch.
