It’s tough to explain why Vicente Vuoso didn’t start the Super Clasico for America, but it’s even more difficult to explain why Marco Fabian didn’t start the game for Chivas. He’s been one of the Goats’ best players all year, and his free kick goal last week against Necaxa was absolutely stunning. In any event, he’s now entered the game for Chivas, as Jose Luis Real aims to counter America’s offensive substitution with an offensive substitution of their own, bringing Fabian into the game for Antonio Gallardo.
Chivas Vs. America 2011, Super Clasico: Marco Fabian Enters For Goats
It would have been surprising if the Clasico stayed low scoring even with the personnel that started the game, but after a couple of offensive substitutions, it will be downright shocking if this game ends 1-1. It’s been great end to end stuff, but the men taking the shots just haven’t had much luck early in the second half. The game is being played more on the counter than these teams usually play, so there are some seriously wide open spaces.
