Portland Timbers Vs. Chicago Fire: Sean Johnson Not Looking Sharp, Timbers Lead 3-0
Johnson didn't exactly look good on either of the Timbers' first two goals, but the third goal of the game was one that could very well haunt his dreams. Johnson failed to hold onto a seemingly harmless cross from Rodney Wallace and Jorge Perlaza was able to control the rebound and score his second goal of the match.
If we’re looking for excuses, the ball was probably wet and it had made its way to Johnson after skipping across the rain-soaked turf. But that seems a bit kind for someone who has been called the future of U.S. goalkeepers. Johnson also misplayed a corner that led to a fourth goal being waved off and he was beaten badly on Perlaza’s first goal.
